Mixing ink by eye

We mix almost every colour by hand from a handful of base inks. A drop of black, a smear of opaque white, and a lot of test prints on scrap.

It is slower than buying matched tins, but small runs never need more than a spoonful, and the colours come out a little warmer than any swatch book.
