Rebuilding the proofing press

Our proofing press arrived in pieces, rollers swollen and bed rusted. Over the winter we stripped it down, had new rollers cast and ground the bed flat again.

It is slower than the platen but perfect for posters and anything larger than A4. The first proof off the rebuilt press is pinned above the type cabinet.
